Spårhunden is an app for dog tracking training. This policy describes what data the app collects, how it is used, and which third-party services process it. The policy covers both the iOS and Android versions; platform-specific differences are listed in dedicated sections at the bottom.

Location data (GPS). The app reads your device's position while you actively lay or follow a track. Coordinates, speed, and accuracy are stored locally as part of the track log. Position is also used to look up weather information for the location where the track is laid.
Track metadata. Track names, discipline, number of articles, time spent, notes, dog profile linkage, tags, and free-text comments you provide.
Dog profiles. Dog name, breed, age, and optional photo that you add yourself.
Photos. Photos you voluntarily attach to tracks or dog profiles.
Purchase information. The app knows which subscription status (Pro / non-Pro) your device has, retrieved from the Apple App Store and Google Play respectively. We have no access to payment cards or other sensitive payment data.
Technical crash logs. Standard crash reports that the platform (Apple/Google) collects and exposes to us in their developer consoles. You can disable this in your system settings.
We do not collect user accounts, email addresses, phone numbers, health data, or advertising IDs. The app contains no analytics SDK for marketing or cross-app tracking.
We do not use the data for marketing, profiling, third-party advertising, or sale to third parties.
Open-Meteo (api.open-meteo.com). When the app retrieves weather for the track's coordinate, the single coordinate (latitude/longitude) is sent to Open-Meteo. Open-Meteo stores no personal data according to its policy (open-meteo.com/en/terms). The full track line is never sent here — only a single point.
Supabase (EU region). When you voluntarily share a track, the content is encrypted locally on your device with AES-GCM before being uploaded to our sharing back-end at Supabase in the EU. The server side cannot decrypt the content — the decryption key exists only in the share link. Tracks that are not shared never leave your device for sharing purposes.
Apple WeatherKit. On iOS, weather lookups go through Apple's WeatherKit service (in addition to, or instead of, Open-Meteo depending on availability).
iCloud. If you have iCloud backup enabled on iPhone, the app's data (including track logs) is synced encrypted to your own iCloud account under Apple's standard terms. We have no access.
HealthKit (optional). If you have chosen to export track data to the Health app, this happens only locally on the device and requires your active consent.
Apple StoreKit. Pro subscriptions are handled by Apple. No payment details pass through our systems.
Google Play Services Location (FusedLocationProvider). Location updates are delivered by Google Play Services on your device. The data stays on the device — the app does not forward the GPS stream to Google.
Google Maps Android SDK. To render the map inside the app, the current map viewport's coordinates are sent to Google so that map tiles can be fetched. This happens every time you view a map in the app and is governed by Google's Maps Platform terms (cloud.google.com/maps-platform/terms).
Google Maps Static Maps API. When you create a shareable image of a track, the track line (an encoded polyline containing all GPS points) is sent to Google to render the image. The image is stored locally on your device.
Google Play Billing. Pro subscriptions are handled by Google Play. No payment details pass through our systems.
Since the app fundamentally does not use a user account, most rights are exercised directly on the device:
We update this policy when services, features, or providers change. The current version is always available at sparhunden.app/en/privacy with the date of the latest change at the top.
